Hello all! Sorry that I have been so behind on the blog, things have been pretty crazy here in good ole Shreveport. Jared and I have now been here for almost two weeks now and we think we have adjusted to the heat, or atleast hoping we have!!
Jared and I are staying with an amazing family with three kids. They have an 11 week old baby girl, so I definitely love that! Jared is even falling in love with her and he wasn't a baby person before now. :) I was holding her the other day and I asked if he wanted to hold her for a little bit, he hesitated for a second, then said yes... needless to say he wouldn't give her back to me!
God has been so faithful to us and He has already started blessing us through the lives of these children at Rock Solid. This past week my camp group consisted of girls ages 9-14. Spending 40 hours a week with these girls definitely got tiring, but God just kept reminding me of the importance to keep smiling and loving on these children. Some of these girls have been through more than any child should ever have to deal with and to see God working in their lives is so incredible. Children go unseen too often and their hurts are ignored because we expect their lives to be easy because they are "just kids"..but let me tell you that some of these "just kids" have experienced more than any of us can or will ever understand and the last thing they need is to be ignored!
We are missing our family dearly! We have a niece to be born here in a few weeks, so maybe we'll get to make a trip home to welcome her!
Love you all
Kate
“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Freedom!
Well boys and girls, I am officially finished with college..and it feels SO good! I had my chemistry and physics finals yesterday, and I did nothing but rejoice once those were over! This semester has been quite the challenge for me. I can't help but be a little disappointed that I suffered through these classes, considering I do not need them right now...but God has His plans. :)
I cannot believe the wedding is only 3 weeks away!! I have A LOT to get done before then. I haven't spent much time planning this semester since school has been so demanding, but it'll get done! I have to be moved out of my duplex by June 1, so I'm slowly starting to pack and move some things into our new place. All within 3 weeks I will be graduating, moving everything into our new place, getting married, going to Cancun, and moving to Louisiana for the summer. Life is about to change so much, but I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
Some days I just sit back and wonder how everything worked out so perfectly. I can tell you right now, I never imagined I would be getting married to a man as wonderful as Jared! I've never met anyone like him...and I don't just say this to sound cliche, I truly mean it. If you know me well enough, you know that God must have blessed Jared with a massive amount of patience!! He has been so incredible to me, even on the days I don't deserve it. He's put up with all of my tears and frustration through these science classes, and he has done nothing but encourage me and help pull me through it. I am blessed beyond measures to have such a God-filled man as my future husband. I cannot wait to spend our first two months of marriage doing ministry together. That's what marriage is truly about for us... serving the Lord. Our prayer is that our marriage will be built on such a strong foundation and that God always remains in the center. God has blessed us beyond our imagination!!
Count your blessings today! :)
